What We Believe

Statement of Faith & Doctrine

  1. We believe that the Bible, consisting of sixty-six (66) books as seen in the Old and New Testaments, is the Word of God and is fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts and is the Christian’s rule of faith and practice (Jn. 17:17; 2 Tim. 3:15-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21; 3:15-16).
  2. We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; fully equal in power, glory and majesty and that this triune God created, upholds, and governs all (Gen. 1:1; Deut. 6:4; Isa. 45:12, 18; Matt. 28:19; Jn. 1:1-2, 14; 10:30; 2 Cor. 13:14).
  3. We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit who is perfect in holiness, wisdom, and love; that He concerns himself mercifully in the affairs of humanity; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from spiritual death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ (Ps. 145:17; Jn. 4:24; 14:1-2, 6; 1 Tim. 1:1; Js. 5:15, 17-18).
  4. We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His absolute, eternal deity, virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings, His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and personal, visible return to earth (Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:23; Mk. 16:19; Lk. 1:34-35; Jn. 2:11; 10:33; 11:25; Acts 1:11; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; Eph. 1:7; Hebrews 2:9; 4:15; 7:26; Rev. 19:11-16).
  5. We believe in the Holy Spirit, fully God, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower for ministry all who believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all the spiritual gifts for use in glorifying God, building up believers and expanding the kingdom (Jn. 16:8-11; Rom. 12:4-8; 15:13, 16; 1 Cor. 12:1, 18-31; 14:40).
  6. We believe that humanity is by nature sinful and that all have willfully sinned and consequently are under condemnation. We also believe, however, that God regenerates by the Holy Spirit all those who repent of their sins, believe in their hearts and confess Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and that one cannot be saved by good works, but by faith in Christ (Rom. 3:14; 5:1-12; 10:8-13; Eph. 2:8-10; Js. 2:14-26).
  7. We believe in the universal church, the living spiritual body of which all regenerated persons are a part of and of which Christ is the head (1 Cor. 12:12-30; Eph. 4:14-16).
  8. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the church: 1) baptism; and 2) the Lord’s Supper (communion).  We believe in baptism by immersion and communion open to all believers (Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:38; 1 Cor. 11:23-26).
  9. We believe in the laying on of hands for baptism of the Holy Spirit, for ordination of pastors, elders, deacons, and missionaries, and for other various ministry callings (Acts 6:6; 8:17; 1 Tim. 4:14).
  10. We believe in the personal, visible return of Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom, in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous and eternal punishment of the wicked (Matt. 16:27; Mk. 14:64; 1 Cor. 15:1-8; Rev. 19:11-16; 20:11-15).
  11. We believe in the liberty of the believer, that each Christian, having direct relations with God is not bound by Law, but freed by grace and that through this freedom should seek to live for the glory of God, to encourage other believers and for the building up of the church (1 Cor. 10:31; Gal. 3:26-29; 5:1, 13-14; 1 Tim. 2:5; Heb. 11:24-25).
